  • WiSaw — What I Saw Today

    iOS · Android · web

Open the app and you are already in. No sign-up, no profile, no followers: photos and short videos posted anonymously to whoever is nearby, moderated by whoever is nearby.

The product I keep coming back to, and the one that taught me the most about architecture. It began as a seven-day experiment, has been rebuilt four times since, and is still shipping.

  • chimingClock

    iOS · Android · tablet

A standing clock that shows the time and plays the Westminster chimes every quarter hour. One screen, no settings worth having, built to give an old tablet a second life.

About a hundred lines of my own code, and almost a week to get those hundred lines right. Simple is not easy: most of the work was deleting features.

  • Get to Know You

    iOS · Android

One question at a time, for teams that ship together but have not yet talked to each other. Built on the observation that the cheapest team investment is knowing who is on the team.

The same minimalism as the clock: open it, answer, pass the phone around. Used in team meetings and offsites, which is where I tested it.

  • Succinct Coin → succinctcoin.ai

    Desktop app (Electron)

A deliberately small cryptocurrency: consensus and ledger in TypeScript, a desktop wallet and miner, mining by uptime instead of proof-of-work.

A Python prototype from 2020, rewritten as succinctcoin.ai: the core is deterministic by construction (chain time only, no wall clock or randomness in consensus), money is decimal at exactly two boundaries, and 285 tests run headless over an in-memory network. Written with agents against that suite rather than reviewed after the fact — which is the only way this stays honest at my scale.
